Penny Juday

Artist Guest of Honor

Penny Juday;

Penny Juday is a native Elkhart, IN who got her big break in set production in the highly acclaimed film, "Hunt for Red October." She served as a lighting advisor to the set decorator.

And, she knew what she was talking about. Before moving to Los Angeles, Penny did a tour with the U.S. Navy as a supervisor for submarine fleet scheduling and staffing.

She continued as an advisor on other films such as "Flight of the Intruder" and "Star Trek VI".

That last job brought her into the Star Trek universe and there she has stayed. For the first season of "Deep Space Nine" Penny was a shopper/buyer and production assistant.

During "DS9's" hiatus, she worked on the films "On Deadly Ground", "Wayne's World", "Monkey Business" and "Blue Chips".

She then returned as Herman Zimmerman's assistant and art coordinator on "Star Trek: Generations". She has since worked on "Star Trek the World Tour", "Star Trek the Experience" in Las Vegas, contributed to many "Star Trek" related books and was project coordinator for "Star Trek: the Magazine". Continuing in the Sci/Fi world Penny has also worked on the last feature film, "Nemesis", as well as art department coordinator for "Alien Resurrection".

Penny is currently co-producing the "Star Trek" DVD sets as well as being the "Star Trek" Archivist for the massive prop, model and drawing collection on the Paramount Lot.

She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Anthony Fredrickson, who is a graphics design artist on "Enterprise". They met during their work together on "Deep Space Nine". Together, they have cats and 2 dogs. Penny is also an animal rescue philanthropist.
