InConJunction Policies

InConJunction is dedicated to providing a harassment-free convention experience for everyone. This policy applies to all participants, whether Convention Committee members, volunteers, vendors, invited guests or paying attendees.

Harassment includes images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, unwelcome attention and offensive verbal comments related, but not limited, to:

  • Gender
  • Gender identity and expression
  • Sexual orientation
  • Disability
  • Physical appearance
  • Body size
  • Race
  • Religion
  • Political affiliation
  • Nation of origin
  • Age
  • Marital status
  • Veteran status

People of all ages attend InConJunction. Sexual language and imagery can be a form of harassment, or can just be inappropriate in a particular setting. As a guideline for determining the appropriateness of such, InConJunction uses the PG-13 movie criteria.

Exceptions to the sexual language and imagery rule may be made for those events listed in the program book as "Adults Only," where participants are given ample warning and opportunity to leave beforehand, and only in cases when it is necessary to the topic of discussion and presented in a respectful manner.

If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the convention organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the convention without refund.

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed or have any other concerns, please contact a member of convention staff immediately. Convention staff will be happy to help participants contact hotel/venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the convention. We value your attendance. Convention staff can be identified by special badges; or go to Registration to request a convention staff member.
