Notes from the President
by Kat Robertson
This month has been rather busy for me, as I am sure it has been for a lot
of you. People have been working outside in their gardens, getting college
kids home for the summer, and preparing for schools end for those in other
grades. I hope all of you are enjoying things, but can still take a small
break and join us this Saturday for the wonderful world of Weird Science
by Rob Pyatt. His wild and wacky stories are always entertaining. I look
forward to seeing you all there this month.

Summary of the April Meeting
by Lynette Cowper
The club met on April 6 at LifeJourney Church. All officers except
InConJunction 34 & 35 ConChairs Drew Happli and Jeff Thompson were
present. We had around 30 adults and 9 kids, including Kevin's girlfriend
Karen and her daughter Katie, and new member Ian.
We accepted the last meeting minutes as published. Kent passed out the
printed Treasurer's reports and announced he was looking for a Treasurer's
assistant for InConJunction.
Mel reminded everyone to be sure to pre-register and book their rooms
early, and to sell ads for the Program Book and seek possible sponsors. We
need folks to volunteer for panels. Go to the Programming page on the
webpage and follow the link. We are still looking for things for the
costume bash-- cardboard boxes, Pringles cans, paper towel tubes, and so
on. Bring your stuff to Joe Greene at the meeting. Be sure when you book
your hotel room, that if you have a special need (want to be on the party
floor, do not want to be on the party floor, need to be near the
elevators, need a lower floor room), that you email hotel at inconjunction
dot org.
As neither Drew nor Jeff were present, we moved to committee reports.
Archivist Bob hasn't gotten any materials to archive yet. If you have
things he can scan and give back to you, get it to him. Quartermasters
Dillan and Ricky will be inventorying the storage space soon. Kat read
Laura's Outreach report. Indy Pride is Saturday, June 8. She is looking
for volunteers to cover 2-hour blocks. We also need volunteers for Pagan
Pride in September. You do not need to be Pagan to volunteer! Tracey
reported on the meeting location search. The one place she had talked to
had just changed hands, so she will be contacting the new folks. Ricky
also has several feelers out, but no firm numbers yet.
In Old Business, we discussed upcoming member activities, including Rob
coming in May for Weird Science and having a 3D printing demo in June.
Member cards were passed out. Kat encouraged folks to speak to local
businesses about getting discounts for members.
There was no New Business so we moved on to announcements. Of those still
relevant: Gary mentioned that the Weather Channel has a couple of
interesting shows-- one on apocalypse weather and another on weather in
space / other planets. Various folks said the recent Oz movie was good.
Joe said the most recent GI Joe was good, but had a massive plot hole with
the tungsten rod thing. John encouraged everyone to check out ThinkGeek's
April Fools Day product, as in the past if they've gotten good feedback
they've actually made some of them (like canned unicorn). Kat mentioned
that Broadway Across America is selling season tickets, which were pretty
reasonable at the lower levels for 5 shows. And that was it for the April
meeting.

Tidbits from Our Members
Joe Greene (Head of InConJunction Programming): Please remember we are
collecting random crafting bits and supplies for a Costume bash event at
InConJunction XXXIII! So bring your scraps and oddments to be recycled
into last minute costumes.
Cheryl Miller-Andrews is looking for book donations to a small school
library. Most of the kids are not into SF. The school is grade 7-12, but
many of the kids are below grade level in reading. Anyone that has books
to donate can bring it to her at the meeting.
Laura Edwards: Indy Pride is Saturday, June 8. We need volunteers to cover
2-hour blocks at our booth.
Lynette Cowper: Monty Pythons Spamalot is coming to the Athenaeum Theatre
June 14-15, 20-23, and 28-29, 2013.
