Summary of the January Club Meeting
 by Lynette Cowper

The club met on January 4 at VMCC. All the officers except
Sergeant-at-Arms Ricky Lile and InConJunction 34 ConChair Drew Happli were
there. We had around 34 people there. We approved the November minutes as
published. Kent gave a very brief Treasurer's report. Jeff reported for
Drew that there are still a couple departments looking for assistants. For
2015, Jeff is still contacting GoH possibilities. He hasn't gotten any
yeses yet. Andy gave a brief summary of the November Board meeting. In
Outreach, Laura is planning on doing the early-bird registration for Indy
Pride.

In Old Business, we didn't have anyone offering to do the January
non-meeting and made no plans for the after-meeting time in February. We
had elections interspersed with announcements. Go to the bottom of the
Circular to see who won! In New Business, we're considering taking over
hosting the New Year's Eve party in cooperation with the USS Quantum,
since the Thompsons aren't interested in organizing it anymore, but we
tabled discussion till February.

We had a bunch of announcements. The still-relevant ones-- Mel: Circle
City Aerodrome is doing a steampunk immersion event on Valentine's Day
weekend at the Columbia Club. It is free, but some programming costs
money. Chris C: There is a new Twilight Zone comic by J. Michael
Straczynski. Hack/Slash is also good. Larry and Leigh are going to some
upcoming cons and looking for room-shares and booth help. They also need
help with the load-in and load-out at Indy Comic Con. Randy recommended
The President's Vampire audiobook by Chris Farley. Mike S: Two new shows
coming out that look interesting-- Intelligence and Helix. Kat is looking
for a home health care office job. Kai has moved out and is living in her
own apartment now. Jeff: Pratchett's Raising Steam is long, but good. John
recommended Neil Gaiman's Ocean at the End of the Lane. Kat has been
reading a lot of books by Deborah Geary, paranormal romance mysteries, and
has enjoyed them. Chris C: There is a Babylon 5 rewatch podcast that he's
been enjoying. It's an episode every week or two. Randy: Welcome to
Nightvale. It's a podcast that feels like Garrison Keillor meets HP
Lovecraft. Highly recommended. Robert Price is also doing a Lovecraft
podcast that's very good. Jeff: For anyone who hasn't seen it yet, The
Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug is good, and Steven Colbert has a cameo in it.

And that was it for January!

Summary of the January Board Meeting
 by Lynette Cowper

The Board met on the 18th at VMCC. All officers were there except Jeff
Thompson. We approved the November minutes as published and had a
Treasurer's report.

For this year's con, we're doing an ad and fliers for Who's Yer Con and a
pair of passes to raffle off. We discussed the play, using the email list,
advertising, and getting more teenagers attendees. We need to get
contracts out to some of the GoHs. Drew is debating between a local young
adult genre author GoH and a non-local prop guy.

For 2016, Laura has contacted some of her GoH hopefuls and is considering
others. She wants to look at previous budgets and actual income/outgo to
make her budget.

We talked about needing to double the meat for the Anniversary Party, buy
a new VP tote, get incorporation papers filed, reimburse Mike for domain
registrations, move the storage unit to our name, and get good convention
swag. We hashed out signage and came up with Board meeting dates. We
discussed doing a Zombie Fried card to promote the club and/or convention.
And we talked about making people CoJ/InCon Ambassadors to other local
cons and clubs, and having those clubs and cons come and talk about what
they do for after-meeting events.

And that was it for the Board meeting.
