You have received this e-mail because you requested that InConJunction
contact you with news about our convention. If you think you received
this in error just send an e-mail to
inconjunctionannounce-leave at lists.inconjunction.org and you will not see
another e-mail from us. We do not sell or give away your e-mail
information.
+ We haven't sent anything to the list in a while and we thought we
should. We have a number of announcements to make, so settle in, get
some popcorn, and let's do this thing!
+ This year's InConJunction is set for July 4th - 6th (2014) at the
Indianapolis Marriott East. Badge prices are currently $40 till Sunday,
May 11th, 2014 then prices go up.
+ It is with heavy hearts that we announce our original Author Guest of
Honor for this year, Aaron Allston, well known for his Star Wars books
plus many gaming credits, passed away at the end of February. Our
condolences go out to Aaron's family. We will be having a memorial at
the convention, for which we are still working out the details.
+ Our new Author Guest of Honor is Jack Campbell. Jack Campbell is the
pen name of John G. Hemry, a retired U.S. Navy officer. Jack has written
the 'Lost Fleet', 'Lost Stars', 'JAG in Space', and 'Stark's War'
series.
+ Our Artist Guest of Honor is the wonderful Aaron Williams. Aaron
writes and draws the comics 'PS238', 'Full Frontal Nerdity', 'Use Sword
on Monster', and 'Nodwick'. Mr. Williams has also authored the 'Diablo'
and 'North 40' comic book series.
+ Our Young Adult Author Guest of Honor is Kat Falls. Kat came up with
the idea for her debut novel, 'Dark Life' during a writing exercise.
Knowing that her 11-year-old son loved reading about the ocean, Wild
West pioneers and, of course, the X-Men, she combined his interests and
created a story premise that kept her up nights plotting and
world-building. The sequel, 'Rip Tide', was released by Scholastic Press
in August, 2011. Each book has been designated as a Junior Library Guild
Selection.
+ Lou Harry is our Toastmaster. Lou is the author of 'The Superman Guide
to Life: Living the Superhero Lifestyle' and the novelization of 'Santa
Claus Conquers the Martians'.
+ Nightly room rates* at the Indianapolis Marriott East are $101.00 for
a single or double (occupancy of up to four persons).
There are also a limited number of "Tower Room" upgrades available.
Please call the Indianapolis Marriott East for the nightly rates for an
upgrade to an Executive King, a Hospitality Suite, a One Bedroom Suite,
or a Presidential Suite.
For the slightly more adventurous who don't mind (or might even enjoy) a
moderate 142.74 yard hike, there are rooms available at the Fairfield
Inn & Suites for $99. For the slightly less adventurous who don't mind a
short 22.86 yard dash across the parking lot, there are additional rooms
available at the La Quinta Inn, for $69.
You can make reservations via the following methods: Reserve your hotel
rooms online simply and securely! Go to our website
