President's Reflections
 by Lynette Cowper

Another school year is drawing to a close. I'm already starting to look at
our summer schedule. Time flies so quickly! Be sure you've got your rooms
booked for InConJunction and that your volunteer plans are in order.

At the last couple of meetings, I've handed out pages of the Bylaws for
people to review. I've only had one person turn in comments and questions.
Be sure to look them over and bring them to the meeting or email the Board
with your comments and questions.

This month, we've got gaming and a pitch-in after the regular meeting.
Later in the month, we've got a “come hang out at the Thompsons' place”
non-meeting on the 12th. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone!

Summary of the April Meeting
 by Lynette Cowper

The club met on April 7. All the officers except Vice-President Kyra and
InConJunction 33 ConChair Melissa were in attendance. We had several
guests-- Rick and Joan Lile, Ron Hawkins, and Kim. Out-of-state member Rob
Pyatt was also at the meeting, since he was doing his Weird Science talk
afterward.

Lynette had Laura read through the March minutes and then Kent gave a
Treasurer's report. Kathie reported on InConJunction. Programming is still
looking for panel ideas. The website has a submissions page. Mel still
needs a Dealers' Room assistant this year and ConCom folks for next year.
Drew has been gathering email addresses for potential GoHs for his year.
Andy gave a brief Board report.

Laura asked for volunteers to help run the CoJ/InConJunction booth at Indy
Pride on June 9th. We made some plans for member activities which included
a gaming night and pitch-in for the May meeting and a hang-out and
pitch-in at the Thompsons' on May 12th.

Lynette handed out more Bylaws pages for folks to go over.

In New Business, we discussed the idea of starting a membership loan
program. The money would be donated rather than being from the CoJ
accounts. This would cover one person in a family for one year and would
be to help out those who have suffered financial hardships such as
extended unemployment or unexpected expenses. Once a person had gotten
their finances straightened out and the back bills paid, they'd repay the
money back into the fun for someone else to use. Applications would be
taken in January and the loans wouldn't be given out till February at the
earliest (so if you wanted to run for office or vote in the election,
you'd need to find your own funds). Preference would be given to those who
have served the club or convention in the past-- former officers, concom
members, folks serving on club committees or outreaches such as the booth
at Pride. The members gave the go-ahead for the Board to develop the idea
further.

We had a brief period of announcements and that was it!

Summary of the April Board Meeting
 by Lynette Cowper

The Board met via Skype on the 22nd. All the officers except VP Kyra and
ConChairs Kathie and Mel were present. We went through convention reports
briefly, then discussed putting together membership loan guidelines. We
went over who had been appointed to various positions, plans for the May
Board meeting, the SOPs, the InConJunction mailing list, Pride, storage,
the webpage, and the Bylaws Caucus. Then we discussed advertising the club
on Facebook. We briefly covered some old budgets and plans and that was
it!
