Summary of the April Club Meeting
 by Lynette Cowper

The club met on April 11 at Valley Mills Christian Church. All officers
were present. There were about 34 people and 2 dogs all told. We had one
guest, Roxy.

We approved the March meeting minutes as published. We got a Treasurer's
Report, then convention reports. Jeff reported our Artist GoH canceled due
to personal issues, but we have a replacement we'll announce once the
contract is signed. He's still in need of volunteers, especially someone
to take over Blood Drive. For 2016 Laura reported Lydia Burris is out as
GoH, so she's looking at other possibilities. Toastmaster will be Beckie
and Shaun from Darkside. The theme is Crossroads of the Multiverse. She's
still getting contracts and inviting Featured Guests. For 2017, Joe
reported that Mercedes Lackey may be out because of RFRA. He's working on
various GoHs. Andy wasn't there for the Board report, so we directed
people to read the minutes and showed off the Open for Business stickers
we have. We ran through a few committee reports. The Audit Committee is
arranged and the Outreach Committee is looking for volunteers for Indy
Pride to take 2-hour shifts.

In Old Business, Stephen had member cards with printed names. If you
haven't gotten yours, see Stephen at the meeting! We watched a video on
instant run-off voting and discussed election procedures. We're going to
do a club fund raiser after the June meeting, which will be a silent
auction of stuff donated by members. The Kinsey SF Art Installation has
been postponed. If we hear any more about it, we'll let folks know.

In New Business, we discussed Club Activities. For April non-meeting
events, we had Ron Hawkins' SF talk on April 23rd at the Monrovia Public
Library. May post-meeting is Gaming for Kat's birthday, with a pitch-in.
For May non-meeting events, Mike C mentioned Avengers: Age of Ultron is
coming to the Centerbrook Drive In near their house on May 1. Others said
we should do a cheap movie theater movie night sometime. There is also the
Naptown Roller Girls Star Wars Bout on May 23. The June post-meeting will
be the silent auction. John Belden mentioned that the Indianapolis
Challenger Student Center is in danger of shutting down and whether the
club could help with something. Discussion ensued. John will look into it
further and we will offer them a table at InConJunction. We confirmed that
the August meeting had been moved and that things donated to the club or
con should be included in our accounting as an expense and income of equal
amounts, so that in the future we know to budget for it.

In Announcements that are still relevant, Sarah Williams will be coming to
Pop Con. Bob Richey is accepting InCon programming through the end of the
month. Wendy Carson mentioned May is Star Wars day at the Indians and Free
Comic Book Day. Kat R's son owns his own landscaping business and could
use the work. He may be looking for people doing part time work.

And that was it for April!
