Elizabeth Moon

Author Guest of Honor

Elizabeth Moon;

Elizabeth Moon is a former Marine Lieutenant, paramedic, and city alderman. Elizabeth has a B.A. in History, and has a B.A. (and done graduate work) in Biology. She was a Hugo Nominee in 1997 for her book Remnant Population. If the names Heris Serano, Sassinak, Esmay Suiza, or Paksenarrion bring pleasant memories to mind, then you are familiar with her work.

A native of Texas, she reports that her mother says she was writing verses and stories as soon as she could hold a pencil. Her interest in science fiction began in high school and was writing science fiction within a couple of weeks of first reading it. Her most recent book is The Speed of Dark.

She believes that to be creative a writer must consume sufficient quantities of the four basic writer food groups: salt, sugar, fat, and chocolate. She enjoys swimming, horseback riding, and walking on scenic trails to "keep her books from growing on her."

For additional information, please refer to Elizabeth Moon's Web Page.
